Partial Solar Eclipse, Scotland 2015.
I was struggling with the kit I had, but managed to capture some video footage which I edited together to make this short time-lapse video of the 2015 partial eclipse.
My Editing of a Video by Ian Sikorski of an Otter killing and eating a giant conger eel.
This was some footage shot by Ian from his guesthouse where we stayed on holiday. I suggested he put it on youtube, but he said he was not technically adept - so I offered to edit the video and put it online for him. I added some stock music and some titles and a quick intro using Google Earth to show the location.
The video quality was not great, so I used some filters to darken it and remove some of the graininess, but I am not responsible for the quality of the original video footage.
Peter Max Video
I was invited to Participate in the Techsmith Camtasia Testing Programme to try out their new software. This video was a project they asked us to create based around the pop artist Peter Max in a trippy style. I used an Art Nouvea building I made in Second Life to give a walk-through of a virtual art gallery, splattered with psychedelic patterns and some music I thought fitted well with the theme and era. It was great fun.
Now I can use this badge on my stuff!
Pods at Loch Leven Larder
I wanted to do a piece to camera to help promote the re-launch of the revised version of my book "Understand & Overcome Depression", I wandered all over looking for a nice spot and everywhere was windy, then I was driving by the Larder and remembered seeing the new pods, so I rang and asked if I might use one. I was told it was fine, so I did this very short video to thank them for their kindness. I added some stills and video and some music I created.
Free Website in minutes
I realise not everyone appreciates how easy it is to knock up your own website, so I put together this quick introductory tutorial style explanation using Camtasia Screen Recorder.
It is a very rapid walk-through of signing up with weebly.com, creating a website, and adding some features, like photos, videos, maps, and contact form.
The whole thing runs in 18 minutes, and part of that is explaining some features, so you can understand how fast you can use Weebly.
This was just something I did very quickly one weekend recently after encountering a couple of guys playing around on JetSki's at South Queensferry. I was looking around for stills when I saw them, and decided to take some action shots. Later one of them spotted the Camera and started hamming it up for me, so I switched to Video and took some footage which I edited together with the stills and added some music by Moby. (which got the video banned in certain parts of the world - but it will play in the UK)
This was knocked up in a weekend flat.
A friend of mine (Gareth) swapped me some of his music CD's for some of my own and I liked this song so much that I decided to create him a Music Video.
It is a pastiche of images shot on location at the old Brickworks near Cemaes Bay in Anglesey.
It is rough and ready, but cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately the quality is not good enough to show the incredible flocks of starlings properly. I would love to re-edit this one sweet day now technology has improved.
The great thing was Gareth was so chuffed anyone had taken an interest in his music that he packed in his job in Spar and went into the music industry.
Jon's Rainforest Adventure.
These are some projects I did for fun a few years ago, they are not brilliant quality and I didn't have time to spend polishing them, but I enjoyed doing them.
