I have done some work as a photographer for one of the Auto Magazines, but I prefer to just treat it as a hobby, it's much more fun.
I like photographing Scenery, Flora and unusual things I see around me. I go more by sheer serendipity than by planning a specific photo-shoot.
I try to always carry a camera, even just a pocket camera as I heard a quote saying "If you don't have a camera then you're not a photographer"
(of course there is also the expression "It's amazing what you see when you haven't got a gun")
I think I should have got into photography sooner, but really it was the Digital Revolution that opened the door for me. I had always taken odd snaps and been trying to be 'creative', but never quite pulling it off. I just had this hankering to try to capture certain scenes in a certain way.
Anyway, got my first DSLR in about 2010 and learned all I could and, over time, I think I kind of got the hang of it.
I am still not brilliant with the technicalities of lenses and stops, I have only the vaguest appreciation of how to calculate these things, but I do understand when I want to change my camera settings and what results it brings.
My biggest problem is working on a modest budget, I can't justify going out and buying lenses like drainpipes or top range Cameras. So I improvise and work out hacks to get the most possible variations by using things like reversing rings to use 70mm lens to take macro shots or using tubes and doublers and I recently realised I could hack a home-made convertor to put other lenses on my camera and picked up some old lenses cheap, so that has given me loads more options now.

I am multi-talented and widely skilled, not so much a "Jack of all trades" but master of many. I am more of a one-man band.
I developed many of my skills while I was an IT Trainer - we had to research and design and deliver all of our training & materials from scratch with just a minimum brief of the course title, therefore we had to be totally self-sufficient.
I often say "A good trainer should be able to teach with just a stick in the sand - but some days you just can't find a good stick". I am proud of my training record and the best compliment from my superiors was that I am a "Natural Trainer". The best compliment from my trainees was frequently "That was the best course I have ever been on". You just can't beat that feeling.
As a Writer, I work entirely on my own from start to completion. Not only am I a proficient touch-typist (75 wpm) but I do all my own design and illustrations. I do all my own proof-reading, take care of copyright and publishing in both paper and electronic format (e-Books). I also build the accompanying websites - like this one, which is entirely my own work.
If you would like to use my services in any arena - or have a training need, or would like personal coaching in any of these things, such as how to create your own website or any aspect of writing & publishing or photography & video, please complete the form on my contacts page. I am currently looking for work and taking on projects. (see my 'Recent Projects' page)
I also welcome informal contact about anything on this website, be it photography or my hobbies.
